Favorite Quote: "Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly."

My goal in life is represent the non represented (Children & Teens) & to work in Social Work to fix the system from the inside. I am a high school Senior & I am involved with Difference Makers International (DMI) because they represent love & acceptance. I continue being involved with DMI because I continuously keep gaining knowledge and a greater understanding that I am powerful & I can change the world with the help & love of a singe blue ribbon. I entered DMI with the mentality that "one cry gone unheard is one too many" I now can see that "one soul gone unnoticed & unacknowledged is unacceptable."

Robert De La Pena

Robert is an amazing kid, becoming the school president of High Tech High School, a Chula Vista school funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Robert has recently convinced the administration of his school to incorporate the blue ribbon into the curriculum, having seniors welcome all freshmen with the blue ribbon, establishing a mentorship program for incoming students, and sharing the power and potential of acknowledgement and support.
