BLUE RIBBON WEEK
Difference Makers International wants to acknowledge Coronado Island School District for successfully hosting a Blue Ribbon Week this 2010!
PREMIER SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY PROGRAM TIME: 1 WEEK + 6 MONTH FOLLOW-UP ACTIVITIES PARTICIPANTS: GRADES 5-12 STUDENTS ALL SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES IMPACT GRADES K-12 Participants learn how to:
- Experience the worth and importance of self and others
- End conflict, bullying and intimidation in their home, school and neighborhoods
- Shift conversations of negativity and mediocrity into the language of possibility and pro-activity
- Teach a 30 minute Power of Acknowledgement training (elementary) and/or 50 minute (middle/high school) curriculum to their peers, teachers, parents and neighbors
- Initiate a community-wide "Acknowledgement Service Program"
Participants Receive:
- Teacher - 30-minute in-service
- Student – 1.5 (elementary) 2 hr. (middle/high school) leadership training program
- Training curriculum
- Speaking and writing literacy program
- All school assembly
- Family Night – 1 hr. for parents, guardians and youth
- Video/photo/story writing contest
- 6-month follow-up activities
